Arriving (Day 1 in Romania)

After months of preparation, the day had finally arrived: our departure to Romania! It was an early morning and a long journey but we finally arrived at the airport in Bucharest. Once we had our suitcases it was time to leave with a small bus to Brasov (+/- 3 hours' drive). The first night we stayed in a youth hostel 'Home of hopes' where our Romanian correspondents were waiting for us. It was nice to finally see each other again for many months. We also met Viorel that day, he helped us with the educational area, namely visiting the orphanages, retirement home, ... and help them with the money that we raised. He owns a number of orphanages so that he can help children with potential grow and become independent. After we had put our bags in our rooms it was time to eat, it was already 7 pm. We had a nice dinner in a pizza restaurant not far away from the hostel, where we could catch up, eat and rest. We had to regain some energy to really start the next day with our adventures in Brasov.
